Submission Guidelines

Our agents only accept queries through QueryManager; here are a few items you’ll need in order to fulfill our submission requirements.

Fiction

You will need: a query letter along with the first chapter of your manuscript and a synopsis. Please be sure to include the genre and word count of your manuscript in your cover letter. Note: Some of our agents also ask for additional material, which will be noted on their QueryManager submission forms when you click on their “Submit Query” button below.

Illustrators & Picture Books

Picture book submissions should include a short query along with the entire manuscript. Feel free to send 2-3 picture book submissions at one time (within the body of one query). Artwork is not required to submit a picture book text, but if you are an illustrator and/or are seeking representation for artwork, please include a link to your online portfolio and/or a link to your online dummy.

Non-Fiction

You will need: a full non-fiction proposal including a query letter and a sample chapter.

Please send your query to only one of our agents at a time.

You may visit each agent’s profile by clicking on their photo below to see which agent you think would be the best fit for your work. If that agent passes on your work, you are welcome to submit to another of our agents (assuming they also represent the areas in which you write). We do not ask for exclusive queries or submissions; queries are meant to be shared, so we encourage you to query multiple agencies, though we do ask that you inform us of any offers of representation or publication that you receive while we are considering your work.
