Jenny Meilihove is a children’s book author and illustrator, graduated from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem.
Her work is playful, colorful and full of imagination, often blending gentle humor with a sense of wonder. She loves creating little worlds filled with curious characters, unexpected details and moments that invite children to look closer and dream a little further.
Jenny works primarily with traditional media, combining gouache, colored pencils, crayons and mixed media with digital techniques. She is especially drawn to picture books, visual storytelling and the magic of turning simple ideas into tactile, imaginative worlds.
Alongside illustration, Jenny creates pop-up stories and paper artworks, exploring movement, transformation and storytelling through paper. She enjoys finding simple ways to make images come alive and turning a flat page into a small world that can be explored and played with.
She has illustrated many picture books, included The Midnight Mitzvah by Ruth Horowitz (Barefoot Books, 2024), When I Look Up by Ellen Delange (Clavis, 2019) and both written and illustrated other books for the international market including Luna’s Cloud Machine (Am Oved, 2024) Tim Tam and the Dots (Am Oved, 2023) which won the Israel Museum Award for Illustration, and The Shoe Tree (HaKibbutz, 2020).
Jenny lives and works in Israel, where she continues to create books, illustrations and little paper worlds filled with curiosity and imagination.
