Dot Manning-Garcia is an author/illustrator living in San Francisco, California. She studied at California College of the Arts and lived in Mexico City as a Fulbright Scholar. Her spouse is Mexican, and they are raising their children in a bilingual and bicultural household. Dot was an elementary art teacher at the Alta Vista School in San Francisco where her students inspired her enormously. Originally from Massachusetts, her Boston accent resurfaces when she forgets to code switch.
